i have decided that this christmas break.
i will take up past hobbies.
such as yo-yoing. i plan on knowing
at least three more tricks before i get home to iowa city.
i mean it's innevitable for miss pacman to reunite with me until 3am.
i'm trying to think of other odd hobbies to add to the list.
but yo yo's are my first and top priority.
and i fly into atlanta on saturday. the 16th. until the 28th.

20 of us went canoeing on the river.

yesterday liz and i laid out on the beach.
it was 86 degrees.
yesterday evening we grilled out.
and then tornadoes hit iowa city.
maybe the scariest thing i have ever been through in my life. tornadoes really do sound like trains. the door to the basement we were in flew off. ears popped. and electricity was out. trees, powerlines, cars, roofs, shingles, windows, etc are. well. everywhere. i saw a priest last night standing outside a church balling. it was in ruins. it was the fucking twilight zone afterwards. people walking around like zombies. or drunk. or drunken zombies. gas leaks were at gas stations. sorority girls were crying because half of their sorority house wasn't there. buildings that have been here for 100+ are ruined. people don't have homes. i saw a guys house today get demolished with a wrecking ball. the national guards were directing traffic. only one fatality. and it wasn't in iowa city. good to hear but still not good.
the city is in shambles. but today was nice and the community got together and cleaned up what could be cleaned.
whew. this is the short part.
anyone can donate food, blankets, clothes, etc to the red cross or take it to the imu (where a lot of homeless students are staying).

i put my coat on eight times to leave.
and then took it right back off to dance.

i was upset by the amount of. or lack there of.
of people not wearing hot pink or red.
it's too elementary i reckon.
well. here's my project to finish before the summer.
it needs breaks. a basket. most likely a new chain.
and a little lady to ride it.

my dad got me an ipod shuffle. which i am rather excited about.

i saw a girl get hit by a car today.
she was just walking.
doot and doo one minute and broken ribs the next.
the sound of it was awful.
it was weird. i saw her facial expression as it happened.
i saw her almost in slow motion drop her bag and collapse to the pavement.
the man's face as he got out of his truck. just awful.
the cop was there in seriously 30 seconds along with an ambulance and then two more cops.
back in school.
my life is now scheduled.
after a year.
i can't stop knitting.
i want to have a dance circle with him in the middle.
